Education and Workforce Development Engagement Survey

Having a skilled and trained workforce is vital to our North Texas hotel industry as is having a pipeline of future talent. HANTX is working with area our school districts and educational partners on some new initiatives to help promote and inspire students to look at the many career paths found within our hotel and lodging industry.

What is the best number to reach you?

Our schools are looking for ways to engage with industry professionals. From middle school through university level classes, please let us know if you have anyone on your hotel team that would be interested in being a guest speaker for an upcoming hospitality class.

Please let us know their name, email and title or the subject matter experience they can share with students.  

Please let us know if you hotel property would be willing to host a site tour for students.  

Would you or someone on your team be willing to help students develop their resumes and be willing to help students during mock interviews as they prepare to enter the workforce?   This is usually an hour time commitment for the volunteers.

HANTX plans on conducting a series of focus groups with middle school 8th graders this fall to determine their knowledge and interest in the lodging/hospitality industry as a career path.  The focus group is scheduled for one hour at a designated school.  Would you or someone from your team be interested in participating in these activities.

Would your hotel be interested in participating in an Adopt-A-School Program if available in your local school district? Adopt-a-School Programs provide a structured pathway for partnership between schools and a community of supporters. Programs like these are intended for corporate and community organizations who are interested in building relationships with schools or specific program/career tracks within the school that support student success for one academic year.

Would your General Manager or one of your Senior Team Leaders be interested in participating in Dallas ISD’s “Principal for a Day” (PFAD) project on October 18th? The goals are to: 

  • Increase awareness among individuals in the private sector of the strengths and challenges in Dallas ISD’s schools;
  • Demonstrate the private sector’s commitment to ensuring a quality public education for all students; and
  • Form ongoing partnerships between individuals/businesses and Dallas ISD.
  • HANTX's goal would be to promote the lodging/hospitality industry as a career path
