With 13 area parks, 2 natural areas for hiking, a BMX Park, golf course and recreation center and more, DeSoto Parks and Recreation is a vital component in the community that provides diverse services and opportunities. There are several special events held throughout the year, perfect for the entire family. 

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) recently announced in October 2022 that the DeSoto Parks & Recreation Department has received re-accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). With the announcement, DeSoto Parks & Recreation joins an elite group of 199 park and recreation agencies across the nation that has achieved accreditation.
